MISSION
EMPOWERING LIVES THROUGH SERVICE
JONALFA Hope International Foundation (JHIF) is a non-governmental organization committed to helping the less privileged and providing true service to humanity.
Since 2009, JHIF has been engaged in philanthropic projects to help widows, fatherless, vulnerable children, and various communities in Abuja as well as Nassarawa, Kaduna, and Enugu States. It is interesting to know that so far, funding and logistics have been almost through the individual effort of the Founder; Evangelist Air Vice Marshal Christian Chukwu (the Chairman Board of Trustees) and his partner Pastor Mrs Anita Zugwai Chukwu (the President).
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to bring hope and support to widows, fatherless children, and other vulnerable individuals, particularly those residing in rural communities.
We are dedicated to providing care, resources, and opportunities that empower these populations to overcome adversity and lead fulfilling lives. By fostering a spirit of compassion and community involvement, we aim to create sustainable solutions that address the unique challenges faced by these groups.
Our commitment extends to advocating for their rights and ensuring that their voices are heard. Through collaborative efforts with local organizations and volunteers, we seek to build a network of support that uplifts individuals and families, ensuring they have the tools they need to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
Together, we can forge a brighter future for those who need it most.
OUR BRIEF HISTORY
JHIF was developed through several years of philanthropic and charity works by the founders; Air Vice Marshal Chris Chukwu, Pastor Mrs Anita Zugwai Chukwu and their team of like-minded, dedicated volunteers. Passion for the less privileged was nurtured in the Air Vice Marshal from the childhood experience of hardship during the Nigerian Civil War. Personal experience as a member of a displaced family and exposure to the terrible state of women and children in the Eastern Nigerian enclave registered a strong and indelible impact on his mind and spirit.
This passion was to be further provoked several decades later when the AVM found himself serving in a United Nations mission in the UNITA-controlled part of Angola where he was in charge of one of the camps for displaced families in the South East Region (Cuando Cubango Province). However, the encounter that launched him and his partner into full charity work and the decision to become a philanthropist was the revelations from several Biblical instructions on man's responsibility. Paramount among these is the value of the love of man for fellow man and the numerous emphases on the poor, the widows and the fatherless.
In summary, the truest form of serving God (“pure religion”) is caring for the weak and the poor, typified by widows and the fatherless without losing sight of righteousness. James 1:27.
